Jimmie Ray Embry

Jimmie Ray Embry 65, of Amarillo, died Saturday November 19, 2011 in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Embry was born in Huntsville, Alabama. He moved to Amarillo during his services in the Air Force where he was stationed at the Amarillo Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1968. After his discharge, Mr. Embry worked as an auto and heavy truck mechanic until his retirement. He married Judy Melton in Amarillo. Mr. Embry is survived by his son, Joe Embry of Amarillo; 4 sisters, Nancy Miles of Hollywood, Ala., Debbie Brooks of Henager, Ala., Helen Blackwell of Boaz, Ala., and Dale Lemley of Woodville, Ala.; and 3 grandsons. The family suggests memorial donations to a favorite charity.
