Jimmy Ray Castleberry, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, in his hometown of Amarillo, Texas. Born on November 13, 1944, also in Amarillo. Jimmy was a man of many talents and interests. His passion for turquoise jewelry and vintage watches was not only evident in his collection but also in the beautiful pieces he crafted by hand. Jimmy's weekends were often spent exploring flea markets, where he was always on the hunt for unique finds and treasures.
Beyond his hobbies, Jimmy was known as a jack of all trades. Before the age of computerized vehicles, he was an exceptional mechanic, known for his ability to fix just about anything that came his way.
Jimmy's caring nature was evident to all who knew him. He was a man who would go out of his way to help anyone in need!
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bessie, his parents Lester Castleberry and Olivia Lee, his brother Tommy, his sons Ricky and Jimmy Jr., and his stepson Michael. Jimmy is survived by his son Donnie, and stepsons Frank and Coy; his brother Grover; his sisters Bertie and Lois; his nieces Teresa, Kathy, and Sheryl; his six nephews; and his ten grandchildren.
Jimmy was a kind and generous man who could create beauty with his hands. His absence will be felt by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we bid farewell to Jimmy Ray Castleberry, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of passion, creativity, and curiosity. His memory will remain a comforting presence in the lives of those who knew him and/or interacted with him. Jimmy's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the stories, kindness and love he shared will remain forever.
