Joan Dirks

Joan Dirks, 71 of Amarillo died Tuesday March 30, 2004. Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM Friday at Christian Heritage Church with Gary Burd, pastor officiating. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Dirks was born in Hedley. She moved to Canyon in 1955. She had lived in Albuquerque, NM and Williams, AZ, before moving to Amarillo in 1985. She worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for several years. Mrs. Dirks was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders and had received numerous awards for her crafts. She married Bobby Rex Griffin in 1955 at Clovis. He died in 2002 Survivors include: 1 daughter; Rexann Rosen of Amarillo, 3 sons; Paul Griffin and Matthew Rex Griffin both of Amarillo and Justin Ross Griffin of Odessa, 1 sister; Geraldine Schetter of Florida, 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
