Joan E. Hadder

Joan E. Hadder, 66, of Amarillo passed away January 2, 2023. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on January 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rector Funeral Home, 2800 South Osage, Amarillo, TX 79103. Joan was born November 5th, 1956 to Maurice and Millowee Bumgarner in Amarillo, TX. Joan was a very loving, loyal, and giving family member and friend. Although Joan did not have any biological children of her own, she raised several children as her own, and was thought of as a mother. She believed in putting honesty and integrity first, and she always believed in standing up for what is right. She made a valiant effort to pass these values on to the children she raised. Joan attended Caprock High School in Amarillo, TX, before working in the dental and medical field until she retired. Joan had a deep love for animals, and was always known for having a canine companion throughout her life. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and by brothers Jerry Bumgarner of Amarillo, and Ronald Bumgarner Sr of Nashville, AR, and by one sister, Donna Bumgarner Kirby of Fort Worth, TX. Joan is survived by nephew Josh Hodnik and his wife Amy Hodnik, of Oklahoma City, OK, niece Kelly Smith of Amarillo, nephews Tony Stewart of Tampa, FL, and Ronnie Bumgarner Jr of Nashville, AR. She was also survived by many great nieces and great nephews. Isaiah 40:31- "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
