Joann Oberbrockling

Barbara Joann Oberbrockling, 93, of Amarillo died Sunday, September 20, 2020. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Joann was born in Amarillo August 16, 1927, to Tressa and Tobe Druin. She met the love of her life Pat, in 1964, the two were married for 56 years until her death. She loved her family endlessly. She loved children so much, Joann even helped raise three of her grandchildren for over six years. Joann was very positive and encouraging even at the age of 93. She spent many years giving back to the community. She was an advocate for AA for many years, sponsoring and guiding people through their own sobriety. She worked at the Panhandle Community Services for over 10 years, assisting people to get their help and also was a medical secretary for over 30 years. Joann is preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Dennis M. Sullivan. She is survived by her husband, Pat Oberbrockling; four daughters, Susan Steen, Debbie Wiegand and her husband Billy, Michelle Bridges and her husband Denny, and Jill Oberbrockling; one son, John Oberbrockling; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Toby Druin.
