Joe Norman Burke

Joe Norman Burke, 69, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday October 25, 2014 in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am in Family Life Fellowship Church with Pastor Dale Travis officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Joe was born on March 4, 1945 in Amarillo. He worked for G.E. Jones Electric Company for 20 years and later retired from TASCO. Joe was always interested in how things worked, he could take apart anything, and put it back together. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was an animal lover and was always patting his familys heads. Joe was a very hard worker, there wasnt anything he couldnt fix. When he was younger he would take apart old radios and put them back together still working. Joe was loved by everyone, and will be deeply missed by all that knew him, he was always there when you needed him and he never wanted to be in the spotlight, Joe always enjoyed a bucket fried chicken. He is preceded in death by two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Judy Burke, 2 sons Mike Burke of Amarillo and Marc Burke of Watertown, SD, a daughter, Lori Moore, and an adopted daughter Maria Savage and husband both of Amarillo, four sisters; Martha Vaughan, Sharon Brown, Alecia Hahun all of Amarillo, and Evon Lovell of Weatherford, seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Kellee, August, Ally, Megan, Jamie, and Lexi, 2 great grandchildren, Carliey, and Cerenity all of Amarillo, and many Nieces and Nephews Family wishes Memorial Donations go to Family Life Church, 3900 W. 58th Amarillo, TX 79110
