Joe R. Deanda

Joe Rivera Deanda passed away peacefully in his home in Amarillo, Texas on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the age of 75. The service is 10:00 am Saturday, November 13, at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Thursday 6-8 pm and the rosary will be Friday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Joe was born on October 31, 1946, in Alice, Texas, and spent most of his early years in Brownfield before moving to Amarillo. His formal education ended in the 6th grade to become a full-time welder. The things Joe enjoyed most were telling you like it is, spending time with his family, and making friends with a stranger. He was extremely hardworking, loved singing, playing his guitar, telling animated stories and jokes, watching a good western as well as cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Rest assured if there was anyone who was down and out, Joe was always there to lend a helping hand and cheer you up with his hilarious sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria and Santos Rivera Deanda, 1 brother Jacob and 2 sisters, Maryann and Betty Jo. He is survived by his loving wife, Lenora Deanda of 57 years. They eloped in Brownfield, on May 3, 1964. Joe's legacy is carried on by his 3 sons, Joseph, Ruben, and Alex Deanda, and his twin daughters, Maria Deanda and Betty Jo Gutierrez. As well as 7 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 3 brothers, 5 sisters and not to mention the countless number of extended family as well.
