Joe Shelton

Joe M. Shelton, 80 of Silver City, NM died Sunday January 8, 2017, in Sliver City. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Shelton was born in Sliverton on January 12, 1936 to Daniel and Bula Shelton. He was raised in Sliverton and moved to Amarillo in 1972. Mr. Shelton served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. He worked as a meter inspector for Energas for retiring after 35 years service. Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Beverly J. Shelton in 2012. He is survived by his son Michael, of Silver City NM, a brother, Calvin Shelton of Silverton, and two sisters, Virginia Thornton of Tulia TX, and Martha McJimsey, Tucson AZ.
