Joel Dean Boggs 59, of Amarillo died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 in Amarillo. Private graveside services will be at Llano Cemetery with Bill Ivins, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Joel was born on May 12, 1961 in Amarillo to Kenneth Ray and Jewell Dean (Henderson) Boggs. He attended Tascosa High School. Joel was a "Jack of all trades". He had worked for sign companies, restaurants and was an excellent backhoe operator. He enjoyed telling jokes and had a great sense of humor. Children thought the world of Joel. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved fishing. He will be remembered as a loving, son, brother, uncle and friend. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jerri and Julie and four brothers, Gary, Ronnie, Steven and Dennis. He is survived by two sisters, Gloria Coleman and her husband Chris of Amarillo and Stephanie Boggs of Childress; two brothers, Larry Boggs of Houston and Andy Boggs of Amarillo as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
