Johanna Lyne 'Jo' Neal

Johanna Lyne Neal, 53 of Amarillo, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 16, 2021. Services will be at 2pm Monday, April 19, 2021 at Chaparral Hill Baptist Church with Alan Burkhalter, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Johanna was born July 25th, 1967 in Amarillo to Tom and Daphane Tackett. She graduated from Amarillo High in 1985 and was a member of the flag corps. She married Chuck Neal on July 15th, 1989 in Amarillo and they were together as best friends and partners in ministry until her passing. Johanna loved anything to do with crafting. She was accomplished at creating scrap books, painting and in many other areas of crafts. She loved to sew and embroider and always made sure that every new baby in her church had a personalized quilt when they arrived. She loved children and spent many years working in the church nursery. She was a long time member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church where she ministered to all she encountered. Johanna is survived by her husband, of the home; four wonderful children: Cassie Tackett of Mesquite; Amber Fitch and husband Steven of Decatur, Alabama; Beth Pronger and husband PJ of Amarillo; and her son Tom Neal of Amarillo; her parents Tom and Daphane Tackett of Mabank; two sisters: Kim Oglesby of Mabank, and her twin Jennifer Cochran and husband Howard of Amarillo; three grandchildren: Jeremiah Fitch, Gracie Fitch and James Pronger; and her best friend and sister in law, Tressa Pearson of Roll, OK; a multitude of extended and church family, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Caleb and Nugget, whom she is spoiling in Heaven right now. Johanna lived her life with a genuine love for everyone she met. She truly loved a lifetime in her short time here and will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers she asked that memorials be made to Chaparral Hills Baptist Church.
