John Philip Bickerstaff

John Philip ""Phil"" Bickerstaff 69, of Amarillo died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Victory Baptist Church, 1211 E. FM 1151 with Wayne Smith, pastor officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Phil was born in Panhandle. He served in the Air Force and Army Reserves. After his military service, Phil worked for Metropolitan Ambulance Service for 20 years. He also worked as a bus Driver for the Amarillo Independent School District for Many years. Phil was a loving brother. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was always willing to help those in need. He was an active member of Victory Baptist Church for many years. He has served on the staff for the last 12 years. Phil is survived by a sister, Lynette Garner and her husband Ronald of Amarillo, his special friend and caretaker, Nelda Silvers of Amarillo and a half sister, Sue Matthews of Pampa. The family suggests memorial donations to Victory Baptist Church, 1211 E. FM 1151, Amarillo, Texas 79118. The body will not be available for viewing.
