John A. Cooper 88 of Amarillo died Sunday Nov. 7, 2004 at Floydada Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Asher, Church of Christ minister officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Cooper was born in Leaky, Texas. He worked as a carpenter for 45 years and was a member of the UBCJA Local # 665. He served in the Navy during WWII. He married Willie Belle Felty on August 30, 1985. He was preceded in death by his first wife Captola Cooper, a son, Larry B. Cooper a daughter, Elaine Cooper and 2 great-grandsons, Austin Lard and Joel Hopson. Survivors include his wife of the home, 1 son: Jerry Cooper and his wife Susan both of Amarillo, 2 daughters; Barbara Paschal and husband Roy of Hale Center and Marilyn Davis and husband Benny of Fort Worth, 1 brother; Tom Cooper and his wife Liz of Kerrville, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and many loving family and friends and his family at Floydada Rehab and Care Center The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and request memorial donations to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or the Floydada Rehab and Care Center Beautification Project.
