John Samuel Landureth

John Samuel Landureth, 81, of Amarillo died Monday January 27, 2020. Service will be Saturday 10 am at llano cemetery following the graveside, a celebration of life at the Church of Quail Creek, 801 Tascosa RD. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. John was born November 25, 1938 in Bisbee Az. to Pearl and Lee Landureth. He Lived every day with a positive outlook. Mr. Landureth married the love of his life, Mary, November 25, 1960. The love he had for his family ran endlessly. John was the scout master, baseball coach, and boxing trainer for his two sons. He was a proud father and grandfather. He wanted his children to achieve more then he ever did. John and Mary fostered children for years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, but his real passion was to take care of others. John was a very giving man and did anything he could to go above and beyond. His work ethic was incredible. John worked as a line man from 1960 until he retired in 2007. He started driving a bus for senior citizens from 2012 until 2016 when he retired again. John was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Bill Landureth and his wife Shirley. He is survived by his wife, his daughter Aleta Foil and her husband Scott, two sons; Timmy Landureth and his wife Brenda, and Johnny landureth and his wife Robin, five sisters; Betty Sheilds and her husband Ed, Linda Taylor and her husband Ronald, Daisy "Beetle" Hopson, Dora Waldrop, and Kathy Kimberlain and her husband Mike.
