Johnnie Lee George 70, of Amarillo died Saturday June 6, 2009 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chuck Garrison pastor of Oakdale Fellowship officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. osage St. Mr. George was born in Centerville NM on January 4, 1939 to Aubrey and Henrietta George. He served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961. Mr. George worked at Affiliated Foods for more than 20 years as a diesel mechanic. He retired in 1999. Mr. George loved camping and fishing. He also loved keeping his yard in pristine condition. He marred Audrey ""Faye"" Perry on Oct. 10, 1984 in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers. He is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, Jackie Pierce of Pampa, Kristina George of Amarillo and Carol Miller of Canyon; 1 son, Carl George of Goldthwaite; 3 step-daughters, Connie Johnson and Michele Dunlap both of Amarillo and Kathy Payne of Springfield, MO; 1 step-son, Mike Bridgeman of Amarillo; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations be to Olivia's Angels in care of BSA Hospice.
