Jose 'Papa Joe' Gutierrez

Jose "Papa Joe" Gutierrez, 69, died Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Mass will be 11:00 am Friday at St. Marys Cathedral officiated by Father Anthony Neusch, interment will be 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Plainview. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Rosary will be 6-7:45 Thursday, November 19, at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Jose was born April 26, 1951, in Sonora to Elia and Isauro Gutierrez Sr. He was a loving and caring person. Jose enjoyed listening to Tejano music. his favorite Artist was Little Joe. He was Texas true. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan. Joe enjoyed traveling to Dallas to root on his teams. He also loved a good ribeye steak. Joe Married the love of his life, Maria March 23, 1991, in Plainview. They were introduced by her family. He loved spending quality time playing with his grandchildren. Jose was a dedicated Catholic and servant of God. Jose and Maria were very active members of the church. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Isauro Gutierrez Jr. He is survived by his wife, Maria Gutierrez, one daughter, Christable Gutierrez, one stepdaughter, Anisa Trujillo and her husband Richard, two step sons; Tony and Albert Velasquez, one brother, Samuel Gutierrez and his wife Angie, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
