Jose “Lalo” Eduardo Rangel, 68, of Dumas, Texas passed away on December 29, 2025.

Viewing will be available from 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 12, 2026, at Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Monday, January 12, 2026, in the Rector Funeral Home Pioneer Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Mass will be said at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1210 SE 11th Ave., with Father Taylor Elzner as celebrant. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home.

Lalo was born in La Moncada, GTO, Mexico, on September 30, 1957, to Cecila “Mama Chila” Moncada and Jose Rangel.

Lalo immigrated to the United States when he was 15 years old. At the time, he arrived with little to nothing, but by working hard, he was able to provide for his family. He started his working career as a farmer in Dumas, Texas, and then went to work as a diesel mechanic and truck driver. Lalo enjoyed working on, fixing, and rebuilding engines.

Above all, Lalo loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He liked to travel and watch telenovelas and old westerns. Lalo made friends everywhere he went and was always telling jokes and making people laugh. He did not know a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Maria “Ignacia” Rangel; and his son, Edward “Eddie” Rangel.

He is survived by his children, Claudia Rangel (Angel Prieto), Clarisa Castaneda and husband Beto, and Roger Rangel (Courtney Ross); grandchildren, Briana Moreno, Rene Castaneda, Andrea Castaneda, Alexa Rangel, Alessandra Rangel, and Gracie Rangel; wife, Bertha “Betty” Rangel Marquez; brothers, Abel Lopez and Rafael Lopez; sister, Gloria Ruiz; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

El velorio se llevará a cabo de 9:00 a. m. a 8:00 p. m. el lunes 12 de enero de 2026 en la Funeraria Rector, ubicada en 2800 S. Osage. El rosario se rezará a las 6:00 p. m. del mismo lunes 12 de enero de 2026 en la Capilla Pioneer de la Funeraria Rector, 2800 S. Osage. La misa se celebrará a las 11:00 a. m. del martes 13 de enero de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, 1210 SE 11th Ave., con el Padre Taylor Elzner comocelebrante. Los arreglos funerarios están a cargo de la Funeraria Rector.

Lalo nació en La Moncada, Guanajuato, México, el 30 de septiembre de 1957, hijo de Cecilia “Mamá Chila” Moncada y José Rangel.

Lalo emigró a los Estados Unidos a los 15 años. En ese entonces, llegó con muy poco, pero gracias a su arduo trabajo, pudomantener a su familia. Comenzó su vida laboral como agricultoren Dumas, Texas, y luego trabajó como mecánico diésel y camionero. A Lalo le gustaba trabajar, reparar y reconstruirmotores.

Sobre todo, Lalo amaba a su familia y disfrutaba pasar tiempocon sus hijos y nietos. Le gustaba viajar y ver telenovelas y películas del viejo oeste. Lalo hacía amigos dondequiera que ibay siempre contaba chistes y hacía reír a la gente. No conocía a ningún desconocido y siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar a cualquiera que lo necesitara.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposa de 45 años, María “Ignacia” Rangel; y su hijo, Edward “Eddie” Rangel.

Le sobreviven sus hijos, Claudia Rangel (Angel Prieto), Clarisa Castaneda y suesposo Beto, y Roger Rangel (Courtney Ross); sus nietos, Briana Moreno, Rene Castaneda, Andrea Castaneda, Alexa Rangel, Alessandra Rangel y Gracie Rangel; su esposa, Bertha “Betty” Rangel Márquez; sus hermanos, Abel López y Rafael López; su hermana, Gloria Ruiz; y muchossobrinos, sobrinas y amigos.
