Jose 'La Luna' Leal

Jose "La Luna" Leal, 67, of Amarillo died Friday, August 7, 2020. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 pm Thursday August 13, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Visitation will be Tuesday August 11, 6-8 pm at Rector Funeral Home. Rosary will be Wednesday at 6:30 pm at Rector Funeral Home. Jose was born October 17, 1952 in Juarez, Mexico to Dora Marquez and Raul Leal. He was a loyal and dedicated father, husband, friend and a good son. Jose sacrificed his life in Mexico for his family. He was always an active person who only sat still to watch soccer. Appearance was everything to Jose. The way he dressed, his yard and even his truck looked was very important. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Maria Lucia Gallegos; his three daughters, Cora, Maricela, and Abigail Leal; one son Jose E. Leal Gallegos; six sisters, Dora, Tere, Maria, Julieta, Martha and Chita Leal; one brother Martin Leal, and 3 grandchildren.
