Jose 'Mike' Velasquez

Jose "Mike" Velasquez 79, of Amarillo died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018. Private family services will be at a later date. Cremations was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mike was born in Canadian. He moved to Amarillo in 1974 from Pampa. Mike attended Price College. He worked as a printer for Whitney Russel and Custom Printing for may years. He retired in 2000. Mike married the love of his life, Andre Potter in 1965 in Pampa. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joaquin Velasquez. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Potter of Fort Worth and Michael Velasquez, Jr., of Amarillo; two brothers, J.P. Velasquez of Olathe, KS and Ray Velasquez of Amarillo; four sister, Florence Kimbley, Henrietta Yates and Susana Toten all of Pampa and Renalda Velasquez of New Mexico; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
