Josefa Maldonado

Josefa Maldonado 97, of Amarillo died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at her home. A gathering of friends and family will be from 7:00 PM 8:30 PM Tuesday at New Life International Church, 406 S. Pittsburg. Services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday at New Life International Church, with David Maldonado, Josias Limones and Spike Maldonado officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Maldonado was born on October 23, 1915 in Hochheim, to Josemaria and Petra Maldonado. She married Miguel Mike Maldonado on May 3, 1941 in Cuero. They moved to Amarillo in 1959. Mrs. Maldonado, will be remembered for her sweet spirit. She was a Christian and loved serving her Savior, Jesus Christ by volunteering at her church. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter Eva M. Pantoja. She is survived by one daughter Esther Pompa-Kendrick and her husband Roy of Amarillo; 3 sons, David Maldonado and his wife Virginia of Cuero, Ismael Maldonado and his wife Andrea and Joel Maldonado and his wife Mary all of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Beatrice Anzaldua and Hope De Los Santos and her husband Richard all of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Abel Trevio of Cuero and Josemaria Trevio of Port Comfort; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
