Joseph Lee Hamel

Joseph Lee Hamel 56, of Amarillo died Sunday May 11, 2014 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday June 4 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Leonard Harper, pastor of Comanche Trail Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Hamel was born on March 3, 1958 in Amarillo to Leo and Dorothy Hamel. He served in the Army, 4th Infantry Div. during the Vietnam War. He was discharged in 1977. Mr. Hamel was a hard worker. He worked in construction and was considered a Jack of all trades. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting. He is survived by a sister, Mary Glisson of Amarillo and a nephew, James Glisson III, of Amarillo. The family suggests memorial donations to the March of Dimes.
