Josephine Schneider 90, formerly of Amarillo died Saturday, September 19, 2015 in Lubbock. Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez, celebrant officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Ms. Schneider was born on June 3, 1925 in Nara Visa, NM to Jose and Ernestine Garcia. She lived in Amarillo many years before moving to Borger in 1969. She moved to Virginia in 1999 and to Lubbock in 2010. Ms. Schneider was a homemaker and a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where she was a very active in church activities. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She also loved shopping and going to garage sales. She was an exceptional grandmother and loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Horace Luera, Rudy Luera and Ernest Luera. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Garcia. Ms. Schneider is survived by two sons, Benny Solano and his wife Pamela of Lubbock and Andy Solano of Fort Worth; four daughters, Gloria Harper of Fritch, Tina Nelson and her husband Larry of Troutville, VA, Sandra Mosher of Sacramento, CA, and Linda LaFon and her husband Larry of Pearisburg, VA; two brothers Edward Luera and Herman Luera both of Amarillo; one sister, Betty Earle of Santa Fe, NM, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
