Joyce Calkins

Joyce Mitchell Calkins, 59, of Amarillo, died Friday. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Thomas, chaplain at Crown of Texas Hospice officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage Street. Mrs. Calkins was born in Beaumont, Texas, and has lived in Amarillo for 40 years. She married Johnny Calkins in 1978 at Amarillo. She was a housewife. Survivors include: her husband, Johnny Calkins of the home; 4 daughters, Carla Word of Windthorst, Joy Fierro, Denise Bynum, and Melissa Segura all of Amarillo; 1 son, Darrin Bynum for Amarillo; 2 sisters, Fay Carter of Ft. Worth, and Christine Mitchell of New York City, NY; 1 brother, Lonny Mitchell of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren.
