Joyce Elliott

Joyce Elliot 72, of Amarillo died Monday, September 9, 2013 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Gil Hiltbrunner, director of Jeremiah 33:3 Ministries officiating. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Miami, Texas with Donald Hill of Canadian, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Joyce was born in Canadian. She played basketball and volleyball at Canadian High School. Joyce moved to Amarillo in the 1960s. She worked in the catalog department of Sears for many years. After leaving Sears, she worked as a manager for convenience stores. She retired in 2003. Joyce loved he faily and spending time with her dog, Molly. She was preceded in death by a son, William Dow Billy Watson and her husband Carmen Elliott. She is survived by one son, Brad Watson and his wife Kim of Lubbock; two daughters, Shannon Thaxton and her husband Brian of Avon Lake, OH, and Sydna Hand of Corinth, MS; five brothers, Bill Wheeler, Tom Wheeler, Jerry Wheeler, Ben Wheeler and Rick Wheeler; two sisters, Eva Creacy and Sally Cox, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Molly.
