Joyce Hutchison

Joyce entered into the presence of the Lord on August 14, 2012, two days prior to her 77th birthday. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2012 at The Church at Quail Creek, with Dr. Stan Coffey officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Joyce loved puzzles, card games, the Texas Rangers and traveling with her family. She also enjoyed crafting, singing, and boat rides. Joyce was a cheerful giver: donating time and money throughout her lifetime to Rosborough Kindergarten, Amarillo Jaycee-ettes, of which she was president in 1972, the Arthritis Foundation and various ministries through her church. Born on August 16, 1935, in Olton, Texas, Joyce was also a resident of Colorado, California, and Arizona, where she met and married Robert I. Hutchison in 1957. Together they moved their family to Amarillo in November, 1969. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.I. ""Bob"" Hutchison, and infant daughter, Barbara Jean. Survivors include one daughter: Brenda Cowan and husband, Richie of Amarillo; two sons: R.W. 'Bobby"" Hutchison, and wife Sherry, of Amarillo and R.A. ""Ron"" Hutchison and wife, Chris of Shreveport, LA.; three granddaughters, four grandsons, and 2 great granddaughters; one sister, Kathi Reamy and husband Herb, and one brother, Jim Garms. The family requests memorials be to BSA Hospice or the Arthritis Foundation.
