Juan Garces Ledesma

Juan "Johnny" Ledesma passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Rector Funeral Home. Johnny was born on March 23, 1966 in Knox City, TX to Tony and Anita Ledesma. Johnny moved to Amarillo at the age of 24, where he was employed with Walmart for close to 20 years. He managed the location on Coulter before transferring to Grand Street until his retirement in the early 2000s. Johnny was known for his deep loud voice, nicknamed "Spongebob" for that reason by his grandson, Nico. He was always straightforward and blunt and especially loved picking on those he loved. He was an avid football fan, supporting the Oilers until they moved to Tennessee, most recently the Minnesota Vikings and was a huge Texas Longhorns fan. Above all, Johnny loved his family. He enjoyed early mornings and days with his grandchildren, Nickolas and Marley, visiting his parents and children in Hollis, cookouts and fishing with family and cherished being known as "Big Papa" and "Jefito" to his family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Ledesma in 1990 and his wife, Chynequa Ledesma in 2014. He is survived by his parents; Tony and Anita Ledesma of Hollis, OK; 5 sons, Juan Ledesma, Jr. and wife Gloria, Nickolas Ledesma and wife Nohely, Alejandro Ledesma and Carlos Ledesma, all of Amarillo and Milagro Ledesma of Hollis, OK; 3 daughters, Carrina Ledesma and Gabriella Ledesma of Amarillo and Malaiah Ledesma of Hollis, OK; 2 grandchildren, Nickolas Ledesma II and Marley Nicole Ledesma; 5 brothers, Tony Ledesma of Amarillo, Alfred Ledesma and wife Faye of Stillwater, OK, Albert Ledesma and wife Patty of Amarillo, Ruben Ledesma and girlfriend, Eva of Amarillo and Bruno Acosta and wife Denise of Hollis, OK; 2 sisters, Lisa Vancil and husband Tom of Plainview and Norma Porras and husband Luis of Amarillo; mother of his children, Michelle Ledesma; close niece, Elsa Jimenez and close sister-in-laws, Melissa Cruz and Kim Alonzo.
