Juana P. Garcia

Juana P. Garcia 94 of Amarillo died Saturday, March 8, 2014. Services will be at 2:00 pm Friday at El Santuario Iglesia Pentecostal Unida with Josias Limones, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Garcia was born on June 16, 1919 in Simonton to Juan and Felicita Perez. She moved t Amarillo in 1982 from Compton, CA. Mrs. Garcia was a very special mother and wife. She loved caring for her children and grandchildren. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed serving home cooked meals to her family. She was a devoted Christian and read her Bible faithfully. She married Pedro Garcia on Dec. 12, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susie Chavez a grandson Jesus Chavez, Jr. and a granddaughter Lenora McCeachern. She is survived by one daughter, Martha G. Short and her husband Royse of Amarillo; one son, Pedro Garcia, Jr. and his wife Doris Ann of Amarillo; one brother, Evaristo Perez of Compton, CA; her sister in law, Frances de Luna of Rosenburg; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
