Juanita Mendez Galaviz

Juanita Mendez Galaviz, 86, of 4006 Van Buren, died Sunday May 19, 2002.

Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Faithful Pentecostal Church, 1601 S. Arthur, with Rev. Rosendo De Los Santos pastor officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage, Amarillo, Texas

Mrs. Galaviz was born in Deming, NM. She was raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, and moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Amherst. She was a member of Faithful Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin H. Galaviz in 1990.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary Lou Geronimo and Grace Medina, both of Amarillo; 5 sons, Jesus Galaviz of Amherst, and Joe Galaviz, Johnny Galaviz, Carlos Galaviz and L.E. Galaviz, all of Amarillo; 1 sister, Maria DeRefugio of Juarez, MX; 1 brother, Marcelino Mendez of Chihuahua; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
