June Chandler, 93, passed away October 21, 2024, at her home in Claude, TX.
She was born to Isaac and Della Mae (Hale) Seymour on September 23,1931 in Denison, TX. The youngest of 5 siblings, times were tough for her growing up with the loss of her mom at the age of 3, leading to the resilience, stubbornness and great strength she was known for, and being a survivor of colon cancer.
She married Floyd A. Chandler in Wellington, TX on December 4, 1948. After 57 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on January 18, 2006.
After graduating from Clarendon College, she became a beautician, having her hair salon at their Wellington home, then to Amarillo when Floyd and she moved in the early 70’s. Later she moved to Claude in 2013 to take care of daughter Judy.
Preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Grady Seymour, Juanita Johnson, Lois Sich, Dorothy Kittrell, daughter Judy Cartwright, stepson Donald Chandler, grandsons: Kris Gonzales, Todd and Tommy Chandler, great-grandchildren: Brea Gonzales and Tyler Duncan, and son in law: Junior Gonzales.
She leaves behind 2 daughters: Joy Gonzales and Glenda (Sidney) Duncan, 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, son in law John Cartwright and daughter in law Bonnie Chandler.
Thank you to John, Natosha, Joy, Kelly, Kim, Dakota and Blayze for being caretakers over the years.
Family graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 24 at Llano Cemetery.
