Junior Perales 64 of Amarillo died Tuesday October 16, 2007 at Amarillo. Rosary and Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday evening October 18, 2007 in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM Friday October 19, 2007 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Monsignor Rex Nicholl, celebrant. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage St., Amarillo TX. Junior was born and raised in Ballinger Texas. He moved to Hereford during his teen years and then moved to Amarillo. He was a lifetime Tejano musician and recorded two albums in the 60's. He was a trumpet player and was passionate about his music. He played with many of the ""old school"" musicians in the Tejano music industry such as Little Joe, Joe Bravo, Ruben Ramos and many many more. Junior mentored many local musicians. Music was a very big part of his life. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation and retired in 2003. Survivors include: his wife Judy of the home; a son, Gregg Paxton and his wife Angela of Amarillo; a daughter, Michelle Perales of Amarillo; a sister, Amelia Rodriguez of Hereford; and four grandchildren, Alicia Paxton, Melissa Paxton, Antonio Ramirez and Israel Sotelo all of Amarillo.
