Osage St. Mrs. Southerland was born on September 18, 1928 in Chuckey, Tenn., to Ross and Lois (Valley) Richardson. She moved to Amarillo in 1947 from Greeneville, Tenn. Mrs. Southerland worked as a retail sales clerk for many years in Amarillo. Among her employers were, Gyro Sales, Hub Clothiers and several others before retiring from Pete's Greenhouse. Mrs. Southerland married Charles Martin Southerland. He preceded her in death in 2008. Her parents and a granddaughter, Annette Sherrill, also preceded her in death. She is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda Bailey and her husband Cliff of Amarillo and Linda May and her husband Arlen of Duncan, OK; her brother, Charles Richardson and his wife Glenda of Amarillo; 1 sister, Billie Kennedy of Pauls Valley, OK; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
