Kelly Renee Smith-Cooksey, 53, of Harlingen died Tuesday, January 12, 2021. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Kelly was born Lansing Ks. on August 6, 1967, to Gloria and David Smith. She was a very loving mother and friend. She was strong and independent. Kelly met the love of her life, Rene Pena, where they spent 13 years together. She was mostly a homebody, but also enjoyed shopping, thrift stores, and garage sales. Kelly is survived by her husband, her two daughters; Alex Jimenez and her husband Gibran, and Breann Cooksey, her son, Austin Cochran, her stepdaughter, Misty Pena, stepson, Ricky Pena, her parents, one sister, Kristie Johnson, two brothers; David M.
