Kenneth Edward Mazurek

Kenneth Edward Mazurek 92, of Amarillo died Friday, November 25, 2016 in Amarillo. Prayer services will be at 6:00 PM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Military Honors will be rendered by Volleys for Veterans. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Kenneth was born in Amarillo on April 28, 1924 to Samuel and Frances Mazurek. He graduated from Price College and was drafted into the Army Air Corps in 1943. He served as an airplane and engine mechanic during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946. After his military service, Kenneth worked as a parts man for Allis-Chalmers for many years and retired from Pantex. Kenneth was a Master Gardner and a member of the North Plains Iris Society. Gardening was his passion. He was an avid photographer and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Ann Cansler and a brother, Sam Mazurek. Kenneth is survived by two sisters, Wanda Mulherin and Lois Litsch, both of Amarillo and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Blessed Sacrament Church, 2500 S. Osage St., Amarillo, Texas 79103 or a favorite charity.
