Kyle Wesley Drake, Jr.

April 9, 1980 — February 2, 2017

Kyle Wesley Drake, Jr. was born April 9th, 1980 in Lamar Colorado to Jodi Drake Traugott and Kyle Drake, Sr. He passed from this life to his Heavenly home on February 2nd, 2017 after a brief illness. Services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Trinity Fellowship North Campus with Bo Williams, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Raised in a military family Kyle spent his childhood in Colorado, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Hawaii, Alaska and New York. Settling in and making Amarillo his home for the past 10 years. The oldest of 3 boys, Kyle was the quiet and serious one with a gentle and kind spirit. Kyle was a caregiver by nature. As young man he took care of his ailing grandparents. His manners were impeccable, and his heart was huge. He was patriotic and proud to be an American. He never missed the chance to tell his Momma, Daddy and Brothers that he loved them. Kyle married Sandra Hart on August 21, 2010 in Amarillo. On January 7, 2011 Alexis Renea Drake was born and Kyle realized what his life was meant for..to be a Daddy. On November 10, 2013 a set of little twin boys arrived. Kyle Wesley Drake III and Kody Rae Drake. His little princess and 2 little boys filled his heart with so much joy and pride. He was a wonderful Father and everything he did he did for his babies. On the rare occasions that you could get a picture of him smiling, it was when he was holding one or all of his babies. Kyle was an exceptional father. His babies were his dreams come true. There was nothing that meant more to Kyle than his children and he loved them unconditionally. Fatherhood was his heart and soul. His children were his inspiration and greatest achievements. There are countless and many wonderful things about Kyle, but seeing him as a Father, marked our hearts forever. It showed what true love is and what life is truly about. Kyles love will carry on in Alexis, Little Kyle and Kody. Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Junior and Carolyn Garrett and Michael Drake. Uncle: Kerry Dee Schwartz. Kyle will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife Sandra and children, Alexis, Kyle and Kody of Amarillo. His Mother Jodi Traugott and her husband Joe of Amarillo. His Father Kyle Wesley Drake, Sr. of Harker Heights, Texas. 2 brothers Brandon (Christi) Drake of Amarillo. Chad Drake of Hereford. His nephew Brandon "Little B" Drake of Dover DE. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his niece, Alivia Rose Drake. Grandmothers: Lois Drake and June Drake. Grandfather: Lester Schwartz. Uncle Lyle Drake and Aunt Michelle Drake. Uncle Jeff (Patsy) Garrett. Aunt Dona Garrett Meadows. Stepsisters: Valarie and Rachael Traugott. Cousins: Tandi, Casey, Lindsay, Monique, Megan, Tyler, JD, Kathy Jo, LJ, Jennifer, Ashley and Brittney. And a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Kyle Drake Children's Fund in care of Amarillo National Bank.
