Larry B. Black

Larry B. Black 74, of Amarillo died Monday, February 6, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Scottie Squyres, son in law officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Larry was born in Amarillo on June 13, 1942 to Raymond R. and Isabelle Black. He worked for the Texas Dept. of Transportation for many years. He retired in 2006 as a right of way supervisor. He was always devoted to sharing the gospel and witnessing to those he met. Larry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, going to the mountains and especially riding his four-wheeler. He married Gayle Wilson in 1962 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughter, Annette Bernal of Amarillo, Kathryn Carter and her husband Troy and Charlette Squyres and her husband Scottie all of Abilene; two sons, Skip Black and his wife Sharon of Amarillo and Galyn Black and his wife Kristen of Edmond, Okla., one sister, Lana Roten of Katy; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family wil receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Tuesday to share memories and tell stories.
