Larry 'Lj' Johnson

Larry "LJ" Johnson 73, of Amarillo died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Sam White, chaplain of Kindred Hospice officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. LJ was born on January 7, 1944 in Wellington, KS. He married the love of his life Linda Lou Crites on August 31, 1962 in Wellington, KS. They moved to Amarillo in 1971. LJ and Linda enjoyed chili cook-offs, camping, hunting and fishing. They also enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Wendover, NV. LJ owned and operated LJ's Lounge for more than 20 years. He had many life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2014. Survivors include one son, Tommy Johnson and his wife Kathy of Bossier City, LA; one daughter, Angela Johnson of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Richard Lowery and his wife Sierra, Chris Brown, Tiffany Brown and her husband Jeff and three great-grandchildren, Azley Houchins, Brae Mason and Madilyn Lowery; one brother, Rusty Johnson of Houston. The family suggests memorial donations to the Make-A-Wish North Texas, 1600 S.
