Larry Don Jones

Larry Don Jones, 58 of Amarillo died Sunday August 18, 2008. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Dustin Wood and Greg Pride officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Jones was born in Clarendon to William W. and Doris Mae Jones. Larry attended Palo Duro High School. He worked for American Bakeries and Ben E. Keith. He retired in 2002 due to poor health. Larry loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved all sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Larry loved his family and his 3 dogs. He married Katie Jones on Sept. 23, 1991 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Frank Jones in 1996 and his mother, Doris Mae Jones in 2006 Survivors include his wife of the home; 1 daughter, Melissa Renea Watson of Heartland; 1 son, Jimmy Don Jones of Watauga; 1 step-daughter, Sissy Jennings of Amarillo; 1 step-son, Chris Jennings of Amarillo; his father, William W. Jones of Amarillo; 1 sister, Linda Joyce Purcell of Amarillo; and 4 grandchildren, Zachary, Makayla, McKenzie and Tiffanie In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Larry Don Jones Memorial Fund c/o of Amarillo National Bank.
