Lawrence 'Larry' Ivey

Lawrence "Larry" Ivey 77, of Amarillo died Friday, August 19, 2016 in Plainview. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Ken Haney officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Larry was born on August 12, 1939 in McAlester, OK to Opal and Dovie Ivey. He lived in Amarillo for more than 30 years. Larry served 8 years in the Army. He worked in security at IBP/Tyson for 28 years, retiring in 2014. Larry was an avid golfer. He married Ila on July 20, 1994 in Las Vegas, NV. Larry was an excellent step-father and grandfather. He treated Ila's children as if they were his own. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, LeRoy and Lonnie and a sister, Wilma Hebert. Larry is survived by his wife; 6 step-daughters, Cherry Rogers of Tulsa, OK, Janet Baumb and Kathie Cimenski both of Cambridge, MN, Beth Adair of Minneapolis, MN, Laurie Sandoval of Clovis, NM and Teresa Duffy of Lewistown, MT; one step-son, Martin Iverson of Minneapolis, MN and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
