Lenora Faye Taylor Stimpson, 84, of Amarillo, Texas passed Sept. 13, 2018. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Monday, Sept. 17 at South Lawn Church 4306 S. Washington St, Amarillo, TX 79110 with Pastor Greg Kinch officiating. Lenora was born November 8, 1933 in Stamford, TX. At age 3 she moved to Denton, TX, attending a small country school called Double Oak Elementary. At age 8 the Taylor family moved to Perryton, TX where Lenora graduated from Perryton High School in June of 1952. Lenora married B.J. Stimpson in June 1952 in Tucumcari, NM and they lived in Borger, TX before moving to Amarillo in 1957. Lenora worked at Amarillo ISD in Food Service in the 70's and was actively involved with the PTA for 25 consecutive years with a Life Membership. She was a very active member of South Lawn Baptist Church. Lenora was a wonderful cook and loved to bake for her family, friends and neighbors. She was very outgoing and witty. She loved life and was an exceptional Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband B.J. Stimpson, Daughter Debbie Stimpson Pettit and Granddaughters Cassi Pettit and Kendra Chadwick, Brothers Charles Taylor, Donald Taylor, James Taylor and Ronald Taylor; 2 Sisters Emmye Lou Fulton and Katherine McWilliams. She is survived by 2 sons David Stimpson and wife Loree of Amarillo, TX; Terry Stimpson and wife Mamie of Cape Coral, FL, 4 Daughters Kay Moorman and husband Mark of Frisco, TX; Karen Stimpson of Lubbock, TX; Carla Allen and husband Bradley of Amarillo, TX, and Gail Ward and husband Lyn of Argyle, TX; and many Grand and Great- Grandchildren.
