Levina ""Maggie"" Turner 87, of Amarillo died Friday October 8, 2010 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Jim Shelburne, pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Turner was born in Mobeetie. She graduated from Perryton High School. She lived in Amarillo most of her adult life. Mrs. Turner was a loving wife and mother and loved serving the Lord. She was a long time member of Washington Avenue Christian Church wher she made many life-long friends. She loved her savior Jesus. She also enjoyed dancing. She was a member of the 45 Uppers Club and attended many VFW dances. During WWII, she worked at Pantex as a riveter. She worked as the secretary for the Senior Aid Program for several years. She retired in 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie P. Turner in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Al Vermillion. She is survived by her son Max Turner and his wife Janice of Amarillo; 1 sister, Clista Wells of Hereford; a sister in law, Shirley Vermillion of Hereford; 3 grandchildren, Michael Lea and Chris, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 nieces. The family suggests memorial donation be made to Washington Avenue Christian Church Building Fund 3800 S. Washington, Amarillo, Texas 79110.
