Lois Laffane Black-Porter 89, of Amarillo died Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Amarillo Primitive Baptist Church, 914 W. Colorado St., with Elder Jeremiah Cunningham officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum, 6969 Interstate 40. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Porter was born on April 25, 1927 in Paducah to Ottie and Almeda Black. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Amarillo Primitive Baptist Church. Her loving hands were always busy. She enjoyed living on her farm and living a simple life. She married Dewey G. Porter in 1942. He preceded her in death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and her parents. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Osborn of Amarillo and Vanese Spier and her husband John of Ohio; one son, Merle Porter and his wife Beverly of Amarillo; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. A family luncheon will be served at Noon Wednesday, prior to the services.
