Loraine Burleson

Loraine ""Meme"" Burleson, 85, of Amarillo died on Sunday August 20, 2006 in Amarillo. Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Llano Cemetery with Pat Clark, Church Reader, of First Church of Christ-Scientist officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 South Osage, Amarillo TX 79103. She married A.C. Burleson on May 31, 1939 in Canyon, Texas. She owned and operated her own beauty salon for about three years and then opened and operated her own gift shop. She really enjoyed her trips to Dallas, where she would go to Market and shop. She was a member of First Church of Christ-Scientist. She is survived by her husband, A.C. Burleson of the home; a son, Michael Burleson and his wife Debbie of Amarillo; a granddaughter; Amy Sanchez and her husband Richie of Spring TX; a grandson, Shawn Burleson and his wife Carrie of Borger TX; three great-grandsons, Christopher Sanchez, Cameron Sanchez and Cody Sanchez of Spring TX; four great-granddaughters, Chenoa Burleson; Chelby Burleson; Cally Burleson; and Chloe Burleson all of Borger; a sister, Nanny Bell Windsor or Port Arthur and three nephews, Butch Tupin and Randy Tupin both of Amarillo, and Alford Pickering of North Carolina.
