Lorene Rector

Lorene Rector 91, of Mobeetie died Saturday February 14, 2009 at her home. Services were at 2:00 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church of Mobeetie with Lynn Rector grandson and Anthony Sherrell great-grandson officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Lorene was born on August 26, 1917 in Paducah to John E. and Lucinda Isabelle (Beck) Pierce. She moved to Mobeetie in 1939 from Wheeler. She lived on at the Huff's Ranch near Pampa for 7 years and returned to Mobeetie in 1949. Lorene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was especially devoted to serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Lorene was a very loving person. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word on her tongue. She loved caring for her family in any way she could. Lorene loved studying her Bible. She had a Bible in every room. She was a long time, faithful member of the First Baptist Church where she made many life long friends. She married Jud ""J.B."" Rector on November 2, 1935 at the J.C. Penney's in Shamrock. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998 and by 2 daughters, Maxine in 1938 and Carolyn in 1944. Survivors include 1 daughter, Melba Corcoran and her husband Dale of Mobeetie; 3 sons, Delbert ""D.L."" Rector and his wife Coleen of Amarillo, Galen Don Rector and his wife Susan of Mead, CO, and Jerry Rector and his wife ""J"" of Amarillo; 1 brother, Carl Pierce of Cheyenne, OK and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Viewing will be from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home and from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Mobeetie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Mobeetie Cemetery Association c/o First State Bank of Mobeetie P.O. Box 8 Mobeetie, Texas 79061.
