Loretta was born in Hereford, Texas, on June 29, 1946, to Edith (Van Horn) and Herbert Higgins. She graduated from Hereford High School. While living in Hereford, Loretta met the love of her life, Wayne Stovall. The two were married in Hereford on November 6, 1964.

Loretta loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cherished her dogs and barn cats, whom she considered part of the family. She enjoyed watching the CMT Country Countdown, followed by her favorite Westerns. Each summer, Loretta and Wayne took their family to Possum Kingdom, where they created memories that will last a lifetime.

Loretta was a faithful member of Borger Primitive Baptist Church. She loved her church family and was always willing to help in any way she could. Each Sunday, she faithfully brought a salad and dessert to share with the congregation’s fellowship meal. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found great joy in serving the Lord.

For more than a decade, Loretta worked at SPS. After her children were grown, she joined her husband Wayne in their truck driving business. She earned her CDL and became a truck driver known by the CB handle “Junebug.” Following her retirement from truck driving, she went to work at the WTAMU Bookstore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Herbert Higgins; and her sister, Wanda Coody.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Stovall, who faithfully cared for her during her final years; her children, Rodney Stovall and wife Kim of Ponder, Texas, Dusty Stovall and wife Tinesa of Amarillo, Texas, and Chantell Hayes and husband Michael of Tulia, Texas; grandchildren, Brittanie Nelson, Courtney Waddell and husband Taylor, Ryan Hayes and wife Laura, Kyler Stovall and wife Jess, Kalee Harlow and husband Bryce, McKennon Stovall, Brenden Stovall and Layla Stovall; ten great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lilly Bolinger and Wilma Sharp.
