Louise Marie Antonia Woldecke Hornsby, 87, of Amarillo, died Sunday November 5, 2006 in Amarillo. Graveside Service will be held on Friday November 10, 2006 in Llano Cemetery with Rev. George Patrick, Retired Baptist Minister officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage, Amarillo TX 79103. Louise Marie Antonia Woldecke Hornsby was born to Louis Richard Gustav Woldecke, and Karoline Pauline Jorkorsky Woldecke in Dresden, Germany. She studied music under Professor Kruegel, music instructor to the Royal Family. Louise was an accomplished opera singer; she performed on stage, starring in many productions like der Fledermaus, and Madame Butterfly. During World War II, Louise escaped to West Berlin, eventually arriving in Kitzingen on the Main River. There she met her soon-to-be husband Ed, who was stationed in Germany with the United States Army. Ed enlisted the help of then Senator Lyndon B. Johnson so he and Louise could be married. On December 3, 1955 in Kitzingen, they had two wedding ceremonies; one in English, and one in German. They moved to Columbus, GA where they operated a Mom & Pop grocery store. In 1966 they moved to Amarillo and in 1980 opened Ed's Lock & Key. Louise worked with Ed until she retired. She continued to enjoy classical music, playing the piano, painting, and caring for ""Tex"", her husband of 52 years.Survivors include her husband Ed J. Hornsby of the home; 1 sister Karola Sontag of Tubingen, Germany, 1 niece Karla Semineth of Trappstadt , Germany, and 3 nephews Peter Sontag of Tubingen, Germany, Dietmar Woldecke of Willow Grove , PA, and Reiner Woldecke of Philadelphia, PA
