Lucille Honey Jeffries 80, of Amarillo died Monday, May 14, 2014 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 am in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Leon Green, pastor of Bolton St. Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas at 2:00 pm. Honey was born on June 28, 1933 in Hedley, Texas to Avery and Pearl Proffitt, she moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Grants, NM. She was a homemaker and loved sewing. Honey met David Buster Jeffries in 1952, they married on March 13, 1954 in San Diego. He preceded her death in 2007 Honey enjoyed spending time with her family, she was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. She was a former member of Bolton St. Baptist Church and a member of Hillside Christian Church. She is survived by, 3 daughters Joyce Ann Pohlenz and husband Peter of Colorado Springs, Co, Pamela Richardson and husband Wayne, and Michelle Welch both of Amarillo, a son David Jeffries and wife Tresia of Cleburne, 2 sisters, Peggy Taliaferro of Springtown, and Dorotha Braidfoot of Memphis, a brother Tommy Proffitt of Memphis, and 3 grandchildren Chris Richardson and wife Robyn, Joseph Hays and wife Heather, and Lorrie Hays and Fianc Chad Burnett.
