Luisa Mata Ortiz 82, formerly of Memphis died Friday, January 15, 2016 in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 5:00 PM Sunday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Ortiz was born on June 6, 1933 in Edcouch to Mateo and Dolores Mata. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother she cared deeply for her family. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting things for her family. She married Rogacion Ortiz in 1953. He preceded her in death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by a son Jaime in 2006. She is survived by 3 daughters, Silvia Lopez and her husband Armando and Nilda Islas and her husband Frank all of Amarillo and Guadalupe Jurado and her husband Francisco of Memphis; 1 sister San Juana Rivera of LaVilla; 3 brothers Pedro Mata, Jose Mata and Wilfredo Mata off of LaVilla; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
