Luther Thomas Birdsong

Luther Thomas Birdsong 71 formerly of Amarillo died Saturday December 20, 2008 in Duncan, OK. Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Royce Elms, pastor of Jubilee Apostolic Church officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Birdsong was born in Choctaw, OK. He lived in Amarillo most of his life. He worked at Overhead Door Co. for more than 35 years, retiring in 2005. He moved to Duncan, OK in 2007. Mr. Birdsong dedicated the majority of his life to his church, children, friends and his job. He enjoyed watching old western movies and spending time with his friends. His humorous and positive demeanor will be missed. He was a former member of Jubilee Apostolic Church. Survivors include 4 daughters, Vickie Pardo of Marshall, Lisa Sheetz of Elkhart, IN, Kelly Loya of Goshen, IN and Christy McCormick of Amarillo; 1 son, Randy Birdsong of Marshall; 2 sisters, Dessie McNeely of Pittsburg and Clara Dee Kirby of Artesia, NM; special friends, Bob and Leona Letcher and Emmer Morrison all of Amarillo, James and Essie Shirley of Marlow, OK, Jim and Roberta Barker of Duncan, OK and Lil Barker of Bowie; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM 7:30 PM Monday at the funeral home and request memorial donations to: Jubilee Apostolic Church 5804 Erik Amarillo, Texas 79106.
