Luther D. Green 73 of Amarillo died Tuesday May 3, 2016 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, May 6, 2016 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Darrell Burton of Cornerstone Outreach officiating. Masonic Rite will be by San Jacinto Masonic Lodge #1330 A.F.&A.M. Military honors will be by the DAV Chapter #26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Luther was born on Sept 12, 1942 in Oklahoma City. He moved to Amarillo in the early 1970's from Tulsa. Luther was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1961. He received a BS in electronics and worked for Royal Typewrites in Oklahoma. He also worked at Wolfe Office Equipment and owned Panhandle Office Equipment. In 1985, Luther went to work as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service. He retired in 2008. Luther was a long-time member of San Jacinto Masonic Lodge #1330 and the A.E Shirley Chapter 986 Order of the Eastern Star. He served as secretary for many years and was a past master of the lodge. He also served as Worthy Patron of the A.E. Shirley Chapter three times. He married Kay Green on November 28, 1964 in Del City, OK. Survivors include his wife, Kay; three daughters, Pam West and her husband Paul of Houston, Michelle Green of Amarillo and Andria Green of Okinawa, Japan; one son, Toby Green and his wife Tiffany of Raleigh, NC and 5 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home, 1020 Tascosa Road, Amarillo, Texas 79124 or BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 6600 Kilgore Drive #110, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
