Lydia Ruth Nichols

Lydia Ruth Nichols, 76, of Amarillo died Sunday August 30, 2020.A celebration of life will be 4:00 Pm Saturday at 4423 Mountain Dr. Amarillo, 79108. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Lydia was born January 25, 1944 in Spanish Fork UT. to Ruth and Clyde Nielsen. She was a stubborn, blunt woman who was stuck in her ways, but she was the friend you could rely on. She was a friend to everyone. Lydia was always willing to lend a hand or help out anyway she could. She was a good mentor in life. Lydia enjoyed listening to country music. She especially loved Elvis and Patsy Cline. She has lots of Elvis memorabilia. Her hobbies included crocheting and Billiards. Lydia loved her children, but her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren were her whole world. Lydia was preceded in death by her Parents, and one daughter, Lydia Carter. She is survived by her two daughters, Sabrina Gilbreath and her husband Dave, and Kathy Carter; two sons, Thomas Carter, and Dennis Christen and his wife Shelby; 18 grandchildren and 38 greatgrandchildren.
