Mae Idell "Peggy" Rowley, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on February 10, 1942, in Rockhill, South Carolina, Peggy's warmth and vitality brought joy to all who knew her throughout her 81 years.
Peggy's life was a testament to her generosity, courage, and passion. She served her country with pride as a dispatcher for the United States Army, setting a foundation of discipline and service that would characterize her entire career.This is where she met the love of her life, Billy Don Rowley. They married on January 1, 1965. He preceded her on may 2, 2010. Following her military service, Peggy joined the workforce at Dunlaps, which later became Dillard's, dedicating 10 years to the company. She then found her niche at Levi Strauss, where she excelled as a receiving manager for 20 years, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues through her steadfast work ethic and kind-hearted nature.
Above all, Peggy was devoted to her family. She leaves behind a loving legacy that includes her children, Charles William Rowley and Teresa Ann Hinch; her grandchildren, Aaron Clark, Casey Clark, Nicolas Rowley, Zackery Rowley, and Kayla Mijares; and her great-grandchildren, Tristan Clark, Jayden Herrera, Connor Mijares, and Phoenix Mijares. Each of them was touched by her unwavering support, her lessons of resilience, and the unconditional love she so freely gave.
Peggy's interests were a reflection of her inner spirit. She was passionate about the Bible, often singing "Jesus Loves Me" and sharing her faith with those around her, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to teach about the Bible's teachings. Her voice, filled with conviction and tenderness, will be remembered as a source of comfort and inspiration.
Those who knew Peggy will recall her as a woman of great character. Her generosity was boundless; she gave not only material gifts but also her time, attention, and wisdom. Peggy's courage was evident in the way she faced life's challenges, never wavering in the face of adversity and always providing a strong foundation for her family. Her passion was most visible in her deep faith and love for her family, which she nurtured until her last days.
As we say goodbye to Peggy, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by love, service, and an unshakeable faith.
